It is almost done!

http://www.GrapevineBook.com

The book was put to bed last week and I signed off on all color corrections Monday.  The publisher promises to have the book ready for delivery by September 7th, the week before GrapeFest 2012.
A number of people have asked how it is going.  I have very mixed emotions to it all:   It is almost done ;>)    &    'It is almost done :>(
Never-the-less, it is always good to finally complete large projects.
For those who are wanting to get a book right away, I am confident you will be delighted and surprised.  If you purchase the book before the end of Grapefest 2012, I will autograph it and you will get a 20% off the cover price.
The one thing I can honestly say is how great everyone has been going through all this. Grapevine has some truly wonderful people who have been helpful in so many ways.
Books like 'Grapevine, Aged to Perfection' are important for many reasons, but one of the best is the preservation of our history of who we are today.  Books capture the legacy and values of people and what makes them who they are.  And one thing is for certain, the people of Grapevine are an incredibly delightful bunch.  While many tourists and visitors will wonder at the Rockwell kind of township, there is a depth to the people here that goes far beyond to a level of generosity and caring for others that is hard found in other places.
There is a story of a little boy who is taken in to the barbershop for his first haircut.  Once there, he refuses to sit in the chair no matter what the mother or barber do to coax him.  He simply will not go.  It reminds me of something Duff O'Dell said to me one afternoon about those who move here but refuse to get involved as volunteers.  The whole experience is so much better for those who will roll up their shirt sleeves and get involved.  It makes life so much richer.
